Decade Series, Part 7

The Sixties. For this one I was thinking about Stonewall, which happened at the end of the decade, and I remember reading about how Butches and Drag Queens were some of the noticeable people fighting back. I remember thinking "Wow, what a great team!"

very clever to use this relatively calm moment to depict a dramatic, violent historical event. So much of your work is incredible, but for me this is really special. The gaze between the two figures tells so many stories, and really drags the viewer into the "world" of the picture. Congratulations on a fantastic piece of work.

yes i can rec this happening to but it jsut never wnet far enough had it by now we bous would be wearing dresses all the time! a real pityn that the sixites ar still not around we need to bring a whole lot of tjhis forward to now becasue what we have now really s just sucks!
